The young running back recruit gave a verbal commitment to Georgia as a freshman, but isn't ready to close his recruitment just yet.

In the summer of 2011, the Georgia Bulldogs offered high school freshman Stanley Williams a scholarship, which he accepted immediately. Now in the midst of his junior year, the 2014 running back prospect says he is 90% committed to Georgia.

At the least, the appeal of being courted by several of the nation's top programs seems to have Williams keeping his recruitment open, as he is unsure about whether or not he will truly sign with the Bulldogs in 2014. The 5'9, 190-pound running back is currently rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 16 running back of the 2014 class, according to Scout.com.

This season, Williams has attended games at Georgia, Florida, South Carolina and Clemson, with plans to see games at Alabama and Auburn. He has also had contact with LSU and Notre Dame.

So is this akin to Williams de-committing? He says, "I'm still a Dawg but I'm still looking at other places." He goes on to explain:

Even though I am committed, I still want to go around, talk to other schools and see if I fit in well there. I'm still thinking things through. A lot of schools are giving me things to think about.

Williams, who is known for his top-level speed, has rushed for over 1,000 yards this high school season despite fighting an ankle injury.

Linebacker Mike Gilliard responds to safety Shawn Williams' comments about who should be playing inside linebacker.

"They should never leave the field." That's what Georgia Bulldogs safety Shawn Williams said about the playing time of inside linebackers Amarlo Herrera and Alec Ogletree. This hasn't made fellow inside linebacker Michael Gilliard all too happy.

The fifth-year senior linebacker responded that Williams "said my name without saying my name." And now he's motivated. Gilliard said, "No disrespect to Amarlo Herrera and Alec Ogletree, those are great players. But when I read that, I felt disrespected, and I'm definitely taking it personally."

Gilliard currently ranks fifth on the team in total tackles with 34 -- one tackle ahead of Ogletree. Last year, Gilliard was third on the team.

Williams does have some position to speak on the matter, ranking first in tackles for the Bulldogs this season and last. But Gilliard insists there is "no issue" between he and Williams. That won't stop the senior from using it as motivation, however, wanting to prove his worth to the defense:

And that started today. Matter of fact, you can ask any of my teammates. Today, I was just upset today at practice. So today, anytime the ball carrier came my way I tried to knock the s--- out of him.

The Bulldogs' defense currently ranks 47th nationally in total yards and carries the task of stopping the No. 2 Florida Gators this Saturday in Jacksonville.
