With the 2012 PGA Championship set to take place on the Atlantic coast, winds were expected to be the biggest weather problem in Kiawah Island, S.C.

But rain is quickly becoming the biggest story in South Carolina. The island has been hit with thunderstorms this week, and the forecast shows that things aren't expected to change throughout the week.

From The Augusta Chronicle:

"In terms of the golf course setup, my best friends this week will be the weather people," said Kerry Haigh, the managing director of championships for the PGA.

The good sign is that course has drained well, and players have been able to get back on the course quickly after rain, former Georgia and Georgia Southern golfer Blake Adams told the Chronicle:

"I was here on Sunday and it absolutely poured," he said. "We sat in the caddie tent and watched the other golf tournament. It rained for a couple of hours, pretty hard, and we walked out there and it was perfect."

Since winning The Masters, Bubba Watson's family life has had to take a majority of the former Georgia Bulldog's focus.

Watson won his first major just two weeks after adopting his then-1-month-old son. Since then, Watson has been going through all sort of legal processes to legally make Caleb part of the family. Watson had some good news on Tuesday. From The Augusta Chronicle:

"Monday was a great day for us with our son," he said. "The adoption is final, so that's the most important thing. We got that done. And now we're on to trying to win this tournament, trying to play good golf, trying to get better in the game of golf."

As the Bulldogs prepare for a season with high expectations, quarterback Aaron Murray will be using lessons from some of the top quarterbacks in the NFL.

Over the summer, Murray spent time as a counselor at the Manning Passing Academy in Louisiana, where Peyton and Eli worked with young quarterbacks. From the Athens Banner-Herald:

"They worked with us on a little bit of form if they saw something glaring," Murray said of two workouts the Mannings had with the college quarterbacks. "So I got to learn from two of the best in the game, which was awesome."

He also worked at the Elite 11 camp in California. Murray and the Bulldogs hope the tips and preparation will help Georgia reach another SEC title game, and perhaps more.

Roger Federer is two wins away from his first singles gold medal after downing former Georgia tennis star John Isner in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

A medal is the one thing missing from Federer's impeccable resume. He defeated Isner 6-4, 7-6 (5). From the AP, via The Augusta Chronicle

"Being in the medal matches, at least I'll get two shots," Federer said. "That's why I looked at this match as a final. You can imagine the relief and happiness I feel right now."

Isner was the last American remaining in men's tennis singles. The Swiss Federer will face Argentine Juan Martin del Potro on Friday, while the other semifinal will see home favorite Brit Andy Murray against Serbian Novak Djokovic.
