Dustin Swedelson writes about Division II football at d2football.com. He is an award-winning broadcaster and writer who has been covering sports since 2006 while still in college. His media career began on The X’s and O’s Show in Valdosta, Georgia where he helped develop the show into being featured on then ESPN Radio in Valdosta in 2007. In the Winter of 2008 the show moved to Talk 92.1. While at Talk 92.1, “Swede” has co-hosted The Pre and Post Game Show for Valdosta State Blazer Football, The David Dean Coaches Show, some South Georgia Football.com Radio Reports, served as color commentary on select Valdosta State football radio broadcasts and most recently the sports update anchor on The Scott James Show. In January of 2009 Talk 92.1 launched The Dustin Swedelson Show to fill part of its Live and Local Lineup. The show currently airs Fridays from 7-9 pm and will move to a daily afternoon-drive format once an all sports station is added to the Talk 92.1 family of networks. From 2006-2008 Dustin served as a play-by-play and color commentator on VSU-TV’s football and basketball broadcasts. His broadcasts earned multiple Society for Collegiate Journalists awards and in the 2008 Georgia College Press Association Better Newspaper Contest he placed 2nd for best sports story. He blogged for ProSportsDaily.com for a short time and has been published in Georgia Magazine, The Valdosta Daily Times, and The VSU Spectator, where he served as Sports Columnist from 2006-2008 and eventually sports editor in 2008.
