Though it's a longshot, the Atlanta Braves still have an outside chance of capturing the NL East crown, as the season enters its final three games.
The Braves need to sweep the Pittsburgh Pirates, and need the Philadelphia Phillies to sweep the Washington Nationals just to force a tie atop the NL East standings. Should that occur, the two teams will face off on Thursday to determine the NL East champion, with the loser playing in the wild card round.
Even if the Braves are unable to match the Nationals in the final three games, they'll still host at least one playoff game, as they'll take on the winner of the second wild card -- either the St. Louis Cardinals, or Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Cardinals can clinch the second wild card with a win on Monday, coupled with a Dodgers loss.
