Atlanta Braves centerfielder Michael Bourn is one of Atlanta's 10 players who became free agents Monday, according to The AJC.
Along with Bourn, Atlanta's free agents include: Jeff Baker, Miguel Batista, Matt Diaz, Chad Durbin, Eric Hinske, Reed Johnson, Lyle Overbay, David Ross and Ben Sheets. But Sheets, 34, is expected to retire.
Free agents can negotiate and sign with other teams starting at 12:01 a.m. Saturday.
The Braves' 10 total free agents is the second-highest number in baseball behind the New York Yankees' 12 free agents.
Atlanta has 10 free agents on its hands, but the Braves also need to worry about Tim Hudson, Paul Maholm and Brian McCann. All three players have options for the 2013 season. Chipper Jones also has an option for 2013, but he announced he would retire early in the 2012 season.
Bourn, a client of agent Scott Boras, is expected to test the free agent market. Bourn, who is known for his speed on the basepaths and in the field, stole 42 bases last season. He led the National League in stolen bases in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
