The regular season finale between the Atlanta Braves and Pittsburgh Pirates will be one of farewells.
For Braves' veteran third baseman Chipper Jones, this will be his final regular season game. The future Hall of Famer has played 18 seasons, all with the Atlanta Braves. He has 468 career home runs and a .303 lifetime batting average.
It will also be the final regular season start from Ben Sheets, who has decided to retire at the end of the season. Sheets was one of baseball's most dominant pitchers in the early-mid 2000s, but his recent career has been marred by injuries. His comeback this year has been successful, as the righty managed a 3.54 ERA in eight starts.
For the Pirates, A.J. Burnett will go for his 17th win of the season. Burnett has been one of the great surprise stories of 2012, posting a 3.43 ERA. A win would bring him into a tie for fifth in the National League.
Wednesday's game starts at 12:35 p.m., and will air on SPSO.
