The Atlanta Falcons hope to stay perfect on the season as they host the Oakland Raiders at the Georgia Dome Sunday afternoon. The Raiders do lead the overall series 7-5, but haven't beat the Falcons since November 26, 2000. In the last two games between the teams, in 2004 and 2008, the Falcons have outscored the Raiders, 59-10.
The Falcons enter the game 5-0, coming off a 24-17 victory over the Washington Redskins in Week 5. In that game, quarterback Matt Ryan completed 34-of-52 passes for 345 yards and two touchdowns with one interception. Tight end Tony Gonzalez and wide receiver Julio Jones combined for 23 of those receptions and 217 receiving yards.
The Oakland Raiders on the other hand are 1-3 and coming off their bye week. In their last game on Sept. 30, the Raiders lost 37-6 to the Denver Broncos. In that game, the Raiders only trailed 10-6 at halftime before allowing 27 unanswered points in the second half. Quarterback Carson Palmer completed 19-of-34 passes for 202 yards. The Broncos defense was able to keep the Raiders' running game in check, allowing only 56 yards, averaging 3.5 yards per carry.
The Falcons come in ranked No. 12 in offensive yards per game while the Raiders have the No. 25 ranked defense for yards per game. The Raiders so far this season have allowed 283 passing yards per game
