Mike Smith sets franchise record in win over Eagles

Mike Smith set a new franchise record for wins by a head coach with 50.

With the Atlanta Falcons' 30-17 win against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Falcons head coach Mike Smith became the franchise's sole all-time wins leader, now boasting a 50-21 record since he took over as coach in 2008. He tied with Dan Reeves last week when the team won his 49th game, but here the milestone comes against the Eagles, ironically led by Michael Vick.

It was also the first time the Falcons won in Philadelphia since 1988.

Atlanta limited Philly's offense to 251 yards and while there were no turnovers from the Eagles this time, the Falcons were still effective in limiting them.

The 7-0 start to the season is the best in franchise history, and the Falcons are still the only undefeated team remaining in the league. Next week, the Falcons look to improve to 8-0 when they face the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas (3-4) made a comeback after trailing big against the Giants on Sunday, but were unable to complete it.
