The Atlanta Falcons didn't do much wrong in Sunday's 30-17 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. Over at SB Nation's The Falcoholic, it was hard to nitpick in such a convincing victory:
To go 7-0 in the NFL, you have to get a little bit lucky, but you also have to be a pretty damn good football team. This was the signature win of the season so far, one that came over a talented football team in adverse conditions with plenty of skeptics. There are no buts left to add here. The Falcons are simply a great football team right now.
The Falcoholic's Dave Choate picked out numerous positives from the game, including a stellar performance from quarterback Matt Ryan. Ryan finished the day 22-of-29 for 262 yards and three touchdowns. All three touchdowns came in the first half, which boosted Atlanta to a 24-7 halftime lead.
Julio Jones was another positive, having "the breakout game we've all been waiting for," Choate wrote. Jones had five catches for 123 yards and a touchdown.
The offensive line didn't have its best day blocking for Atlanta's running backs, Choate said, but the protection for Ryan was great. Peter Konz made his first start in place of injured Garrett Reynolds.
Atlanta is the last team in the NFL that is unbeaten. The Falcons have a strong hold on the NFC South, with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in second place with a 3-4 record.
The Falcons will try to go 8-0 when it hosts Dallas on Sunday Night Football this week.
