Raiders Vs.Falcons, Week 6: Atlanta still paying attention to detail

There's plenty the 5-0 Atlanta Falcons need to address, namely pass drops and run defense.

Almost everything seems to be clicking for the 5-0 Atlanta Falcons, but as the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports, it's a matter of keeping an even-keeled attitude around the club at hand for head coach Mike Smith. Despite being perfect in the W-L column, the Falcons are far from it. Their run defense is 27th in the league, and the receiving corps had several drops that could have made Sunday's one-touchdown win over Washington a blowout.

"It’s all about your focus," Smith said. "You’ve got to focus on the task at hand. This is a group of guys that knows how to have fun, but they also know how to snap in and go to work when it’s time to go to work. That’s the important thing.

"There has got to be levity in everything that you do, in your personal life, in your work life. But there are also things that you have to get accomplished and things that you have to do. Everyone understands what our jobs are in this building."

Smith also downplayed the fact that with one more win, he'll be the franchise leader for Atlanta, and that the Falcons are tied with Baltimore for the second-best overall record dating back to 2008 (the beginning of the Dimitroff/Smith/Ryan era), behind only the Patriots.

"It’s just a start," Smith said. "That’s all it is."
