The Atlanta Falcons have only one team ahead of them in the SB Nation NFL power rankings, compiled by Joel Thorman. After beating the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, 23-19, Thorman complemented them on the fact that despite quarterback Matt Ryan throwing five interceptions and six total turnovers, they responded well and were able to pull off the win:
Like the Texans, the Falcons are a good team. Despite five Matt Ryan interceptions and six total turnovers, the Falcons found a way to beat the Cardinals. Atlanta has to feel good about itself, to get tested like that and respond.
The only team that is ahead of the Falcons are the Houston Texans, who were tested themselves against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday before winning, 43-37. The San Francisco 49ers, after a 32-7 victory over the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football, rose all the way to No. 3 in the rankings. The Baltimore Ravens and the New England Patriots round out the top five.
The Falcons now prepare for NFC South rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium. The game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. kick off and the game will be broadcast on Fox.
