Atlanta came out of its 23-13 win over the New Orleans Saints Thursday night mostly unscathed, but the Falcons did lose cornerback Asante Samuel when he aggravated a right shoulder injury in the first quarter.

Samuel had been questionable the entire week leading up to Thursday night's game. The cornerback tried to give it a go, but re-injured the shoulder on the Saints' opening drive when attempting to cover Joseph Morgan down the field. After a 38-yard completion to Morgan on third down, Samuel walked off the field in noticeable pain and was replaced by Robert McClain.

Samuel initially suffered the injury back on Nov. 18 in a win over the Arizona Cardinals when he tried to tackle LaRod Stephens-Howling. Samuel tried to return to the game but left after falling and aggravating the shoulder. He then tried to play in last Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but also left that game due to problems with the shoulder.

The cornerback is officially questionable for Atlanta's Week 14 contest against the Carolina Panthers.
