Giants vs. Falcons odds: Atlanta barely favored over New York

The last time the Falcons faced the Giants, Atlanta suffered a 24-2 defeat in the first round of the NFC playoffs.

The Atlanta Falcons are currently favored by one point against the New York Giants on most betting sites, although that slight advantage could diminish as the week goes on. Because more fans seem to be picking the Giants, 5Dimes and some others have already reduced the spread to even.

While New York (8-5) has three more losses than Atlanta (11-2), the Giants have a better average point differential this season (7.9 vs. 6.0). Against the spread, the Giants are 6-7, while the Falcons are 7-5-1.

New York is coming off a big win over the New Orleans Saints, while Atlanta is attempting to rebound from a loss to the Carolina Panthers. Still, the Falcons are 6-0 at home this season. Atlanta's last home loss came against the New Orleans Saints on Nov. 13, 2011.

The last time these teams met, New York eliminated Atlanta from the playoffs in a 24-2 blowout, en route to a Super Bowl title.
