Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez's first quarter touchdown that gave the Falcons a 14-0 lead on the New York Giants in the Falcons' eventual 34-0 victory over New York proved an early indicator of Atlanta's offensive prowess on Sunday. According to his comments after the game, Gonzalez and Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan were clicking early.

"They came out and tried to get the jam on me - and I knew they were going to try to get the jam and I was pointing at them - and Matt put that ball in perfect," Gonzalez told the Atlanta Journal Constitution after the game.

The Falcons' second touchdown of the day came from inside the red zone, where Gonzalez was initially jammed by the Giants defends at the line before Gonzalez cut in toward the end zone where Ryan had thrown the ball.

Gonzalez skied to catch Ryan's throw, which Gonzalez knew he had a chance at.

"Actually the defender made a good play on it but if you put the ball up there, then I feel like I can go up there and climb that ladder and make a play on the ball," Gonzalez said.
