Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White did not practice all week and was listed as questionable heading into the weekend, but he started against the New York Giants on Sunday. White said he received a message from God on Sunday morning.
"When I woke up [Sunday] morning, the good Lord told me, ‘Roddy, you can go out there and play [Sunday],’" White said. "So that’s what I did."
White caught only two passes for 16 yards against New York, but Atlanta rolled to an easy 34-0 victory and improved to 12-2 on the season. Matt Ryan completed 23 of 28 pass attempts for 270 yards and three touchdowns.
White has 79 receptions for 1,156 yards and five touchdowns this season. Teammate Julio Jones also has surpassed the 1,000-yard receiving milestone.
The Falcons return to the field in Week 16 against the Detroit Lions. They'll wrap up the regular season with a game against Tampa Bay in Week 17.
