The struggles of Atlanta Falcons punt returner Dominique Franks has led to some speculation that Harry Douglas could soon be taking over the returning duties.
Franks has been the primary returner all season, but Douglas was called upon in the loss to the New Orleans Saints on Nov. 11 when the Falcons needed a big return.
Falcons fans have become frustrated with Franks, even taking to Twitter to call him "Fair Catch Franks." He has fair caught 17 punts on the season, which ranks seventh in the NFL. His 7.7 yards per return is 21st in the league among players with at least 20 returns.
Douglas has returned one punt against the Saints this year, and it was for no gain. The wide receiver last returned punts back in 2008, when he returned 19 punts for 226 yards, an 11.9-yards-per-return average. Douglas did return one punt for a touchdown that season.
