The strong performance of Atlanta's Matt Ryan against the Detroit Lions on Saturday night earned the Falcons quarterback NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Ryan was dominant in the 31-18 victory, completing 25-of-32 passes for 279 yards and four touchdowns. He also added 25 yards on the ground. The first three touchdowns of the night helped build a big lead, and the fourth and final one salted the game away after the Lions threatened to comeback.
The victory gave Atlanta 13 wins and locked up home-field advantage in the NFC throughout the playoffs. And to go along with all of this, Ryan was voted to the Pro Bowl on Wednesday. The quarterback has been brilliant all season, notching career-highs in pretty much every major passing category.
The Falcons finish off the regular season against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday before heading to the postseason, where Ryan has yet to win a single game.
