William Moore is having his best season in a contract year and is coming off perhaps the best game of his professional career. The safety had two of the Atlanta Falcons' five interceptions of New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees in a win last week. He also tallied 13 tackles, and on Wednesday was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week.
Moore is having a breakout season in his fourth year in the league. The 2009 second-round pick out of Missouri leads the NFC South champion Atlanta Falcons with 105 tackles, and along with fellow safety Thomas DeCoud appears to be a perfect fit in new defensive coordinator Mike Nolan's scheme. His effort against the Saints was a big reason Brees was held without a passing touchdown for the first time in 54 straight games, an NFL record.
Moore has four picks on the year to go along with the team-leading tackle total. He's broken up eight passes and has one sack.
