Atlanta defeated the Carolina Panthers in their first meeting this season, but the Falcons allowed seven sacks in the process. Wide receiver Julio Jones said the team simply has to perform at a higher level this time around.
"The only thing I know is that we just have to play better overall as an offense," Jones said. "Everybody is owning up to what they did wrong, but at the same time everybody has just got to play better. End of story. Especially on the offensive side of the ball."
Despite the pressure from the Panthers, Matt Ryan and the Falcons offense put up some large numbers in the game. Ryan threw for 369 yards and three scores, and the offense averaged more than six yards per play from scrimmage.
At 11-1 overall, the Falcons already have clinched the NFC South, but they have more work to do in order to clinch the No. 1 playoff seed in the NFC. The Panthers come into this game at 3-9, losing three of their last four.
