NFL Mock Draft 2013: Falcons select Menelik Watson

Atlanta needs to find some help along the offensive line, something Watson should provide.

Kim Klement-US PRESSWIRE

In SB Nation's latest NFL mock draft, Dan Kadar has the Atlanta Falcons selecting Florida State Seminoles offensive tackle Menelik Watson with the No. 30 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Watson is a player who has been rising up draft boards for the last few months, gaining steam as one of the top-five tackle prospects this year.

Atlanta needs some help along its offensive front with Sam Baker never quite reaching expectations after being a first-round pick in 2008 and Tyson Clabo being cut for salary cap purposes. The Falcons could immediately plug in Watson on the right side of the line and if Baker falters on the blind side, put Watson in his place.

Other options at this spot would be a top running back as a long-term solution once the tread is completely off of Steven Jackson's tires. Eddie Lacy of the Alabama Crimson Tide, the top back in most expert opinions, might still be available.

The Falcons could also look at a pass rusher as they lost John Abraham in the offseason. Abraham led the team in sacks with ten.
