Baseball

NLCS, Game 6: San Francisco Giants at Philadelphia Phillies, 7:30, Fox: Jonathan Sanchez and Roy Oswalt toe the rubber (boy that's fun to say!) as the Giants take their second stab at eliminating the Phillies. They'll only have one after this, so here's hoping San Fran makes it count. The Phillies won the last game, 4-2, as Roy Halladay pitched well despite his physicality falling apart in real time.

↵

ALCS, Game 7: New York Yankees at Texas Rangers, 8, TBS: Not necessary because the adorable Rangers whipped the Yankee dynasty into the cookie folder of history and then clicked Clear. OK fine the Yankees will buy the Rangers' best pitcher and be back next year, but for now let the world enjoy this.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. Navy Midshipmen
, noon, CBS: Two four-win independents clash in hopes of winning their Independent Conference divisions and making it to the Independent Conference Championship in South Bend, Indiana. That's not how it works, but ordinarily this game is just one more reason for me to talk about Paul Johnson, so this is progress. Line: Notre Dame -6 to -7.

UPSET ALERT! No. 7 Michigan State Spartans at Northwestern
Wildcats, noon, ESPN: Sparty's gonna express himself, but this the noon pickin's are as slim as ever. If you haven't seen Michigan State in action yet, keep this one on standby. Don't look now, but Northwestern is 5-1 -- so this might actually be a game. No, it won't. Actually, it's cold outside, so let's go ahead and spice up the morning by going UPSET ALERT! stamp. Line: Michigan State -5.5 to -6.5.

↵

Mississippi Rebels at No. 23 Arkansas Razorbacks
, noon, WPCH: Arkansas has to see if it can't hold an opponent below 1,000 points for once, and Ole Miss is just the team for the job. Also, Houston Nutt makes his annual return to Arkansas (no, they don't play in Arkansas every year, but sometimes Nutt gets misdirected), which is a big deal to Razorback fans who talk about former coach Nutt every freaking day while reminding Falcons fans never to speak of former coach Bobby Petrino. Line: Arkansas -10.

↵

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at Clemson
Tigers, 3:30, ABC: Paul Johnson has never lost to Clemson. Dabo Swinney has struggled in tight games. Kyle Parker is banged up. Tech's defense is starting to put the pieces together. Joshua Nesbitt is one big run away from passing Woody Dantzler in the ACC record books in front of Dantzler's own crowd. All of these things are trumped by the scariest words in the Yellow Jacket language: purple out. Line: Clemson -4.5 to -5. Click here for our previews and live coverage.

↵

GAME OF THE DAY! No. 6 LSU Tigers at No. 4 Auburn Tigers
, 3:30, CBS: As an individual who has merrily been overrating both of these programs for months now, I'm excited about this one. Is LSU's third-ranked defense sturdy enough to contain Cam Newton? Is Auburn's we-just-want-to-get-the-ball-back-to-Cam defense just the thing LSU's offense needs? Les Miles Les Miles? Les Miles? Les Les Les Les Miles? MiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiLine: Auburn -5.5 to .6.

↵

No. 13 Wisconsin Badgers at No. 15 Iowa
Hawkeyes, 3:30, ESPN: Fresh off dominating the nation's number-one team, the Badgers Line: Iowa -6. Iowa -6? Iowa -6? Really? We're aware Iowa hasn't beaten anybody besides a dinged-up Denard Robinson? Too bad we already used UPSET ALERT!, because wow. Hang on, making a phone call.

↵

No. 16 Nebraska Cornhuskers at No. 14 Oklahoma State Cowboys, 3:30, ESPN3

↵

No. 9 Alabama Crimson Tide at Tennessee Volunteers
, 7, ESPN: Poor Derek Dooley. Is how every paragraph written about Tennessee should begin. Line: Bama -16 and on up.

↵

Georgia Bulldogs at Kentucky Wildcats
, 7:30, CSS: Georgia still has a prayer in the SEC East. Unfortunately, so does Kentucky. Will Randall Cobb's Twitter spur Big Blue into action? We'll find out tonight whether the Dawgs have actually turned the corner or not. I, for one, expect Georgia to trample the 'Cats as The Lost Month fades even further into memory. Line: Georgia -4. Click here for our previews and coverage.

↵

North Carolina Tar Heels at Miami Hurricanes
, 7:30, ESPN2: If we'd told you before the season that T.J. Yates would be a demonstrably better quarterback than Jacory Harris this year, you would've said, "oh, and I suppose Michigan State will be ranked ahead of Alabama, too?" The Heels, like so many teams, aren't dead in the ACC water yet. Line: Miami -6. Considering this.

↵

No. 1 Oklahoma Sooners at No. 11 Missouri Tigers
, 8, ABC: The Tigers, who ain't played nobody according to these Southern eyes, and the Sooners, who've actually put together a decent resume after a slow start, get the day's marquee spot. Mizzou will be rocking, enjoying their first GameDay experience ever with a shot to move deep into the top ten. Line: Oklahoma -3.

↵

Washington Huskies at No. 18 Arizona Wildcats, 10:15, ESPN: Ahhh, Pac 10 football. America's  Line: Arizona - 6.5
