College Basketball Odds: Duke, UNC, Florida Among Vegas National Title Favorites

The Dagger's Jeff Eisenberg shares a list of Vegas' college basketball championship odds, comparing May odds to current odds. The Georgia Bulldogs and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets suitably aren't listed (here they are at SportsBetting.com, with the Jackets boasting better odds somehow), so here's a look at some ACC and SEC odds:

The Duke Blue Devils still lead the way -- they're now 5-to-1 favorites. The Kentucky Wildcats and Florida Gators saw their odds inch downward along with most other teams, with the Heels now at 18-to-1 and the Gators 20-to-1. The Florida St. Seminoles, Mississippi St. Bulldogs, and Virginia Tech Hokies were among the 100-to-1 teams that are down to 60-to-1, while the N.C. State Wolfpack only went down to 85-to-1.

Between May and November, bettors apparently expressed more unexpected confidence in the Tennessee Volunteers than in any other team, as the Vols' odds were slashed by more than half. This, of course, happened right before they lost by two touchdowns to the Division II Indianapolis Greyhounds, meaning the oddsmakers may have had the right idea about Bruce Pearl's squad back in spring after all.
