South Carolina Gamecocks coach Steve Spurrier has won his eighth SEC East title, and he did it against the team with whom he won the first seven. Carolina crushed the Florida Gators on both sides of the ball, winning in Gainesville for their first time ever. They'll take on the Auburn Tigers in the Georgia Dome on Dec. 4.
Carolina RB Marcus Lattimore had the game of his young career, pounding out 238 yards and three touchdowns on 43 touches. QB Stephen Garcia threw for 156 yards, 53 of them to WR Alshon Jeffery, and avoided throwing a pick for the first time since Sept. 25. Florida's new-look, three-quarterback offense could only produce a single touchdown, a pass from QB Jordan Reed to RB Chris Rainey.
After Florida claimed they wanted to try and run 100 plays on offense, the Cocks held them to about half that: 55. Carolina more than doubled up Florida's time of possession, and were more than three times better on third down.
