College Football Schedule, Week 13: No. 2 Auburn Tigers Vs. No. 11 Alabama Crimson Tide Preview

If there’s any team that can stop the Auburns Tigers Cam Newton Express, it’s them alphabet boys. But if anybody can slow it down, it’s the Alabama Crimson Tide’s fifth-ranked defense. But here’s the opportunity for Auburn’s No. 3 rushing game — Bama’s been run upon this year, ranking, um, only 22nd in the nation in run D.

As for the Wigamens Plaigle defense, let us ponder whether it exists. Actually, part of it doesn’t, since they’re entering this game down two defensive linemen for the opening half. Against a running attack that produced last year’s Heisman Trophy winner, you’re kind of going to need those.

A Bama victory means all manner of BCS hell breaks loose. An Auburn win puts them one step away from a BCS National Championship appearance that everyone outside of east Georgia will enjoy seeing retconned, meaning delayed BCS chaos. Either way the Iron Bowl will be one more shot to the kidney of college football’s crooked governing body.

TV time: 2:30 Friday on CBS.
