Since joining the ACC, the Virginia Tech Hokies have won the Coastal Division four times and beaten the Virginia Cavaliers six times. They’ve been in the conference for seven years now, so you can do the math there.
The Cavs might be the ACC’s worst team, with their only conference win coming over a Miami Hurricanes team that found itself cycling through its quarterback depth chart mid-game after Jacory Harris went down. They have better stats than the Duke Blue Devils, but gave up 55 in a loss to the Dukies. That alone should just about clinch it.
A convincing win by VT would be best for the conference, especially with the possibility of the Florida St. Seminoles losing to the Florida Gators while winning the Atlantic Division by virtue of a loss by the N.C. State Wolfpack. I’ve found that if you talk about bad things enough, they’re less likely to happen.
