Georgia Bulldog QB Aaron Murray says he’s “pain-free” and expects to play without any problem against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Saturday night. Murray’s status was briefly in question after he suffered a knee injury against the Auburn Tigers. He’d been day-to-day last week, but has practiced two days in a row this week.
Speaking of practice, the Dawgs are poppin’ this afternoon. Breaking out the pads for the fifth straight practice, they're working on dealing with Tech’s cut blocking. Mark Richt may have warmed a small corner of Paul Johnson’s heart by complimenting the Jacket offense’s legal cut blocks, especially after Miami Hurricanes coach Randy Shannon complained about the matter and Virginia Tech Hokies coach Frank Beamer has taken issue with Tech’s blocking for years now.
Tech ranks 93rd in the nation in sacks, with only 16. All but 3.5 of those have come from blitzes, so as long as Washaun Ealey, Caleb King, and company keep their heads a-swivel, Murray’s mobility shouldn’t be put to too much of a test. Just stats, people.
