The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets had their opportunities to win the game, but special teams breakdowns and inefficiencies in the passing game led to 42-34 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs.
After Scott Blair missed the extra point which would the time the game at 35, Georgia looked to add more insurance to their lead, but Aaron Murray, who has been excellent all game long fumbled the snap on fourth-and-one on the Tech 24-yard line.
But Tech could not capitalize as they went four-and-out and that led to a Washaun Ealey 20-yard touchdown run. However Tech wanted Ealey to score because they wanted the ball back. Tech should have reconsidered because Telvin Washington threw an interception to Justin Houston and the Bulldogs take down the Jackets for the second consecutive year. Georgia finishes the season at 6-6 and is now bowl eligible. Tech drops to 6-6 and will have a bad taste in their mouth for a month before they play their bowl game.
Despite both teams having not great seasons, it was a good game an if both teams improve on defense, they will be better teams in 2011.
