SEC East Standings: Next Week Florida And South Carolina Fight For A Trip To Championship Game

The Arkansas Razorbacks are up 24-10 on the South Carolina Gamecocks at halftime. Assuming Arkansas hangs on -- because (1) they're up by 14, (2) Sakerlina's offense isn't built to score in bunches, and (3) it has no practical bearing on the East's standings anyway -- next week's game between Carolina and the Florida Gators will decide the division.

South Carolina has never won a SEC Championship Game, and has never won the SEC East. Their most recent near-miss was in 2005, when they fell a game short of Georgia. Florida has won ten division championships in the division's 18-year history, including three of the past four, with seven conference titles since the game began.

With the Auburn Tigers looming, the Georgia Bulldogs are locked in at third, having lost tiebreakers to both the Cocks and Gators and won them against the Vanderbilt Commodores and Kentucky Wildcats. And as we always say at ort about this hour: poor Tennessee.
