SEC Championship Game Projection: Auburn Tigers Vs. Florida Gators?

With a game-plus edge in the SEC West, the Auburn Tigers have a very good shot at getting into the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta. Auburn will need to beat either the Georgia Bulldogs in Auburn or the Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa to win its division for the first time since 2004.

The Florida Gators welcome the South Carolina Gamecocks next week. Whether the Gamecocks can come from behind to beat the Arkansas Razorbacks tonight or not, the winner will take the SEC East.

Considering the Tigers have two chances to get it done, and a loss along the way by the LSU Tigers would settle the thing anyway, let’s pencil Auburn in for Atlanta. And since Carolina hasn’t won in Gainesville since it joined the SEC in 1992, it would not be lunacy to sort of expect Auburn to face Florida.

Their last SEC Championship Game meeting was in 2000, when Florida won 28-6 on a big day by QB Rex Grossman.
