This week's USA Today Coaches' Poll is out, the first of two major human college football polls. The Oregon Ducks retain the top spot, with the Auburn Tigers finishing second. Holding off the TCU Horned Frogs after their dismantling of the Utah Utes is a good sign for Auburn's BCS prospects, but we'll find out more about the BCS later tonight. Auburn controls its own destiny from here on out, but it would be pretty annoying to see TCU jump them in any poll, even if only for a week.
The LSU Tigers jump to No. 6 after beating the Alabama Crimson Tide, who slip to No. 12 and leave the top ten for the first time since Sept. 7, 2008. The Virginia Tech Hokies rep the ACC, jumping all the way to No. 16 after outlasting the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at home.
The Mississippi St. Bulldogs, Arkansas Razorbacks, and South Carolina Gamecocks shuffle around a little bit, with the Florida Gators rejoining us after a brief hiatus. Don't be shocked if the Gators take out Carolina next week and become the SEC's fourth-highest-ranked team.
