Terrelle Pryor Suspended, Will Still Play In Sugar Bowl Vs. Arkansas

Ohio St. Buckeyes QB Terrelle Pryor, along with four other players, will miss the first five games of the 2011 season for receiving improper benefits. The four other players are Devier Posey, Solomon Thomas, Daniel “Boom” Herron, and Mike Adams.

Each will still be able to play in the Sugar Bowl against the Arkansas Razorbacks on Jan. 4. Vegas took down lines on the game at some point Wednesday night, as it began to appear there might be something to the tattoos-for-autographs rumor that had been bubbling all week.

While this suspension doesn’t appear to be all that directly related (qualifiers!) to the tattoo thing, it’s now clear that something was indeed up.

This could certainly prove to be a distraction for the Buckeyes in advance of the Sugar Bowl. While Auburn played carefree football despite the ongoing Cam Newton investigation and scandal, distractions aren’t that easy to overlook for most. Ohio State already had a lot on its mind anyway, considering its lengthy losing streak to SEC teams in bowl games.
