UAB Vs. Georgia Score: Dawgs Win 66-64 On Big Night By Trey Thompkins

Georgia Bulldogs forward Trey Thompkins had his best game of the season as the Dawgs held on to beat the UAB Blazers 66-64 in Stegeman Coliseum. Thompkins posted a season-high 20 points on only 13 shots plus nine rebounds, two assists, two steals, and three blocks. Forward Jeremy Price finished with 14.

Georgia led 43-32 at halftime, but thirteen minutes without a score by Thompkins let UAB back in. The Dawgs trailed by one with two minutes to go. They had to count on some solid late shooting from the field and the stripe by guard Gerald Robinson to keep the game out of reach late. The Blazers had a chance to tie with about 15 seconds left but missed a three.

UAB had four scorers in double figures, led by Cameron Moore’s 20, and then one guy who scored three points. Yep, only five Blazers scored — it’s a self-contained offense.

The Dawgs are now 5-2, with their next game against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Dec. 7 in Atlanta.
