It's official: Georgia Tech will head to Shreveport, Louisiana to take on the Air Force Falcons. Both teams run option based spread offenses. Tech leads the nation with 327 rushing yards per game, and Air Force comes in second nationally with 317.9 yards per game.
As a Tech fan, I'm not all that excited to go the Shreveport, especially after how much fun it was when Georgia went last year. But as for the matchup, this game will be a blast to watch.
Air Force is 8-4 and 5-3 in the MWC this season. They have wins over BYU, Navy, and Army, and had close losses to Oklahoma and Utah.
The game will be Tech's first appearance in the Independence Bowl. The two teams have faced off three times in the past, and Tech has won all of the meetings.
The game is December 27th at 4 p.m. on ESPN2.
