Georgia Vs. Georgia Tech Basketball: Yellow Jackets Lead Bulldogs 35-29 at the Half

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets started fast behind eleven first half points from Iman Shumpert and lead Georia 35-29 at the half. Tech has combined some solid outside shooting with a packed in zone defense to stymie the Bulldogs who have been unable to find a rhythm against the zone. Surprisingly Tech has a decided advantage on the boards out rebounding the Bulldogs by a 21-14 margin.

Georgia was led in the first half by Dustin Ware who connected on three of four three point attempts for nine first half points. Gerald Robinson scored seven points while Trey Thompkins tossed in six of his own. Travis Leslie was the missing component for the Bulldogs in the first half having not attempted a field goal after picking up two quick fouls.

Tech has clearly been the aggressor in this match up thus far controlling the tempo both offensively and defensively. The zone defense seems to have slowed Georgia and has resulted in some long jump shot attempts from the Bulldogs.
