2011 NFL Draft: Randall Cobb Leaving Kentucky, According To Report

Kentucky Wildcats QB/WR/RB/KR/PR Randall Cobb is reportedly leaving school early to enter the 2011 NFL Draft. Cobb has been a Swiss Army offense for the Wildcats, and will provide some NFL offensive coordinator with a chance to stay up late coming up with ways to use his new toy.

Mocking The Draft has the numbers:

Cobb was second in the nation as a junior in all-purpose yards. In 2010, he caught 84 passes for 1,017 yards and seven touchdowns. He ran the ball 55 times for 424 yards and five more scores. He completed five of 10 passes for 50 yards and three touchdowns.

On special teams, he averaged 7.8 yards per punt return and 23.7 yards per kick return.

A potential slot receiver, he sounds exactly like the kind of player the Falcons should look to pick up in later rounds. He’s expected to go in the third round or so, however, and a similar player could likely be found later on.

And an incident like his Twitter tirade against Kentucky fans would also raise the concerns of Atlanta’s very image-conscious front office, especially considering the Michael Vick middle finger incident and this city’s ever-shifting sports priorities.
