Super Bowl Logo History, Evander Holyfield #SMH, And Wisconsin's Pipeline: Around The Perimeter

Super Bowl: SportsLogos.net is an amazing sports history resource -- check out the Super Bowl logos page. It's cool to me, at least. I like how these logos go through waves of boring and colorful over time. The 1980s were completely dreadful and drab, until that early '90s stretch (including Atlanta's '93 peach logo) brought back some life and personality. Based on the period from 2008 to 2010, it looks like we're heading back into a dull era devoid of charmingly clunky attempts at local color, and we are. Henceforth the logos will all be pretty much the same as 2010's.

Boxing: Local hero Evander Holyfield is still at it. The 48-year-old from Atlanta fought a man named Sherman last night, and save your jokes, because it actually went better the first time. Sherman Williams painted the canvas (this is so easy!) with the former champ for three rounds before the referee called the fight. It's sad every time.

Dawgs and Jackets: Georgia Bulldogs and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets fans are used to South Carolina, Florida, Florida State, Auburn, and so forth poaching football talent from the Peach State, but the Wisconsin Badgers? Isn't that a line that shouldn't have been crossed? Via Blutarsky
