College Baseball Top 25: LSU, South Carolina, Clemson Among ACC And SEC Schools Chasing Florida

New, 2 comments

Baseball America's preseason top 25 is out, with the Florida Gators coming in as the most-hyped college baseball team in the nation. Neither the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets or Georgia Bulldogs make the cut despite Tech being a baseball school now. The Jackets lost a lot of talent, and the Dawgs, uh, played baseball the way that they did last year. /shudders

But the rest of the rankings are riddled with Southeastern teams, with the college baseball-mad LSU Tigers coming in at No. 22. Why start with No. 22? Because they're the only ones who actually care about this, fam.

The Vanderbilt Commodores are the second-highest SEC or ACC team, landing at No. 4. The defending national champion South Carolina Gamecocks and their rival Clemson Tigers are also in the top 10, followed by the top-15 Florida St. Seminoles and Virginia Cavaliers. The Miami Hurricanes round out proceedings at No. 24.

Dawg Sports is excited about all this, because it means at least one good baseball team will be in Athens at several points this season.
