Georgia Recruiting: Jeoffrey Pagan Drops Clemson; A Bonus Before National Signing Day?

National signing day is next week, and the Georgia Bulldogs still have at least two very big fishes to try and reel in, but another one might be jumping out of the fish lake and into Mark Richt’s big floating football boat of metaphors. DE Jeoffrey Pagan, a four-star (according to Rivals) from North Carolina, has de-committed from the Clemson Tigers and says he’s “excited about Georgia.”

While that’s not a commit to the Dawgs, it’s tantalizingly close to it. The only other school thought to be in the running is the — I’ll give you three guesses — Alabama Crimson Tide. Georgia has border-war’d it’s way to a potential top-five class by butting up against Nick Saban at every turn, and it looks like this will be the latest battle. It’s a little too instant to be a battle, so maybe a skirmish.

Pagan is rated as the nation’s No. 4 defensive end and the No. 42 player in the nation, so we’re talking about a very big deal here.
