Former Georgia Bulldogs star Bubba Watson won the 2011 Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, an event that featured the season debuts of both Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson. Watson battled Mickelson down the stretch, shooting a 67 to put the event away.
↵The 32-year-old from Florida was up-and-down somewhat during the tournament, shooting a 71 in the first round before a lights-out 65 in the second. Six birdies in the final round, including a 16-foot birdie putt on the final hole, put the win out of reach. This is his second-ever PGA Tour win, netting him just over $1 million.
↵Woods started strong, but finished tied for 44th after two bad weekend rounds.
↵At college, Watson led Georgia to the 2000 SEC championship. After the win, Watson choked up while greeting his mother. His father died last year from throat cancer.
