Isaiah Crowell would've had a huge 49 touchdown rush late in the first quarter, but instead was kept to a just 14 yard gain, as he stepped out of bounds at the 35-yard-line. Georgia would later punt after Aaron Murray was sacked on third down.
After holding Mississippi State to three-and-out on their opening possession, Georgia wasted no time to take an early lead in a three play, 1:14 drive when Aaron Murray hit Orson Charles on post route for a 21-yard touchdown pass.
Mississippi State would pass their way to a 1st and 10 on the UGA 20, but quarterback Chris Relf would take a sack and then a flag for intentional grounding. The Starkville Dogs would settle for a 42-yard field goal.
