Georgia vs. Mississippi State Score: UGA Dogs Take 14-3 Lead Thanks To Field Position

Georgia has twice answered a Mississippi State three-and-out drive with an Aaron Murray touchdown pass, the second a six yard pass to Malcom Mitchell to give UGA a 14-3 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Murray was only 4-of-6 passing for 45 yards in the first quarter (compared to Chris Relf's 80 yards), but Georgia's average starting field position has been inside Mississippi State territory. The touchdown to Mitchell capped a four-play, 1:46 long effort that started at the MSU 22-yard-line after State punter Baker Swedenburg shanked an 11-yard punt.

Mississippi State answered the second UGA touchdown with another three-and-out drive, giving Georgia the ball back before Murray would be intercepted by MSU sophomore Nicko Whitley at the State 20-yard-line.
