One of the most difficult parts of recruiting Southwest Dekalb's Shaq Goodwin is that he is so busy. After all the 6-foot-8, 245 pound power forward is also a wide receiver on the football team. Still Goodwin found the time to host coaches from three of the biggest basketball programs in the country in Florida's Billy Dononvan, Memphis' Josh Pastner and UCLA's Ben Howland.
Howland and UCLA are not to be ignored in this equation as former Atlanta Celtics coach Korey McCray is a part of the Bruins coaching staff and traveled with Howland to visit Goodwin. Goodwin has played AAU basketball for both the Celtics and McCray.
Georgia is not out of the equation either. Goodwin took an unofficial visit to Athens a couple of weeks ago. Goodwin has stated that he also wants to play football in college also as either a wide receiver or a tight end. That wouldn't be unheard of at Georgia as Nick Marshall and Jay Rome are planning to do the same thing for the Bulldogs this season.
Goodwin still lists Georgia, Florida, Memphis, Arizona and UCLA as his top five and is currently in the process of setting up visits to each school.
