College Basketball Signing Day: Andy Landers Adds Two Players To UGA Class

The Georgia Lady Bulldogs received signed letters-of-intent from two players on Tuesday for their 2012 class in Shacobia Barbee and Marjorie Butler.

Barbee is the reigning Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Tennessee and was Miss Basketball in Class AAA. The 5-foot-11 guard/forward led Riverdale High School 34-2 record and was State Runner-Up in Class AAA.

"Shacobia comes from an ultra-successful high school program," Landers said. "She could be playing on the best high school team in the country this year. Shacobia is a versatile perimeter player who also has the physical strength, size and toughness to be a small '4'. As good as Shacobia is - and she's very, very good - she has enormous potential and is particularly exciting with her versatility."

Marjorie Butler is a 5-foot-8 guard from The Webb School of Knoxville. Butler was named Miss Basketball for Division II Class A last season and was the state of Tennessee's 2011 recipient of the Wendy's High School Heisman. The Webb School finished as state runner-up in Class A last season.
