College Basketball Signing Day: Robert Carter Picks Georgia Tech Over UGA, Others

Shiloh High power forward Robert Carter backed up the rumors today when he confirmed that he would be playing for Georgia Tech and Brian Gregory next season. Carter is a 5-star talent and is ranked among the top 25 players in the nations by several outlets. Carter joins fellow in-state players Marcus Hunt and Chris Bolden to form a solid 2012 class for the Yellow Jackets.

Carter also had UGA, Florida, Florida State and Maryland on his list of schools along with the Yellow Jackets. Reportedly Carter's decision was between Georgia Tech and Georgia.

After taking an official visit to Athens, Carter said that he was told by Mark Fox that he was the Bulldogs' No. 1 priority this season although Georgia was still reportedly recruiting Carter's fellow in-state product Shaq Goodwin.

On Carter's official visit to Georgia Tech he was greeted by both Bolden and Hunt as the trio will now be considered the foundation for the beginning of the Brian Gregory era.
