The Georgia Bulldogs are climbing in the BCS rankings, but reaching a BCS bowl game will require them to win the SEC, which would include a win against a likely No. 1 LSU Tigers. Also with Georgia currently the fourth ranked team out of the SEC according to the BCS, an at-large berth is not going to happen.
The next best Georgia can hope for is to take the top SEC bowl game that resides outside of the BCS, the Cotton Bowl. There Georgia would take on the third place Big 12 team. It's looking like the Kansas St. Wildcats could be Georgia's opponent there.
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have lost three of their past four games and are sliding down the ACC bowl pecking order after once being in contention to win the Coastal Division. Now they could be looking at facing off with Vanderbilt in the Music City Bowl. Georgia Tech does have a chance to move up to a better bowl if they can beat rival Georgia on the last weekend of the season.
Here are the Week 12 bowl projections:
Cotton Bowl, Jan. 6, 2012
Georgia vs. Kansas State
Music City Bowl, Dec. 30, 2011
