UGA Basketball Vs. Bowling Green: Bulldogs Open Play In CBE Classic

Mark Fox's Georgia Bulldogs open play in the CBE Classic Saturday night against Bowling Green at Stegeman Coliseum. Tip off is scheduled for 6 p.m. and can be seen on ESPNU.

Coming off of its season opening victory over Wofford, the Georgia Bulldogs basketball team opens play in the CBE Classic Saturday night against Bowling Green. The Bulldogs host the first two games of the tournament before traveling to Kansas City for the semifinals and finals. Georgia will take on South Dakota State on Wednesday. 

The Bulldogs held off a pesky Wofford team 62-49 on Friday night with freshman Kentavious Caldwell-Pope leading the way with a game-high 15 points. Donte' Williams got the first start of his career up front and grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds. Georgia's backcourt of Dustin Ware and Gerald Robinson combined for 25 points and nine assists in the win. 

Bowling Green defeated Howard 63-48 in its first game. Freshman forward Scott Thomas led the way in that game with 14 points and eight rebounds. Jordon Crawford added 13 points while Dee Brown chipped in 11. 

After hosting South Dakota State on Wednesday, Georgia will advance to the semifinals of the CBE. The Bulldogs will play California on November 22 and will take on either Notre Dame or Missouri the next night.
