Wake Forest Vs. Georgia Southern Final Score: Eagles' Comeback Falls Just Short

Georgia Southern put up a valiant effort on the road before succumbing to Wake Forest 81-73 to fall to 0-2 on the season. The Eagles pulled to within just five points with a little over nine minutes to go in the game before a barrage of baskets from Wake's Travis McKie put the game back out of reach.

McKie finished with a game-high 23 points while C.J. Harris tossed in 20 for the Demon Deacons who are now 2-0 on the season. Tony Chennault finished with 14 points and Chase Fischer 13 to round out Wake's double figure scorers.

Jelani Hewitt went 5-7 from three-point range while scoring 18 points to lead the Eagles. Eric Ferguson also pitched in 18 while Willie Powers finished with 13 points, six rebounds and seven assists. Georgia Southern shot a respectable 49 percent and out rebounded Wake 33-24 but shot themselves in the foot with 22 turnovers in the game.
