Georgia Tech wrapped up play in the Charleston Classic falling 59-50 to LSU in the fifth place game of the tournament. LSU's Anthony Hickey scored 20 points to lead the Tigers past the Yellow Jackets despite shooting just 33 percent from the field in the game.
Georgia Tech cut the lead to just one point with 3:15 to go on a Mfon Udofia three-point basket but that was as close as the Yellow Jackets would get eventually falling by nine. Tech committed 23 turnovers on the night which had a huge impact in the outcome of the game.
Udofia scored a team-high 14 points for the Yellow Jackets while Glen Rice Jr. came off the bench to score 11 but was credited with six turnovers in his second game of the season. Kammeon Holsey chipped in 10 points while Daniel Miller finished with eight points and eight rebounds.
The loss drops the Yellow Jackets to 3-2 on the season and will host Siena on Wednesday in Gwinnett.
