VIDEO: Larry Munson Tribute Featuring Vince Dooley, Mark Richt, Others

Three years ago, seemingly everlasting Georgia Bulldogs announcer Larry Munson stepped down from his post amid health concerns. UGA released a video tribute featuring thoughts from Vince Dooley, Charley Trippi, Lindsay Scott, Mark Richt and other Dawgs luminaries.

On the occasion of his passing, it's worth another look, especially since it includes Munson's most well-known calls, which we're just going to keep linking to for quite some time:

"He was one of the original homers," Dooley says, lovingly. Amen.

Let's also take a moment, while we're here, to appreciate his "Movie Group" radio spots that emerged on local sports talk stations at all hours. One used to run at something like 3:50 a.m. for some reason, which I'd catch every morning or whenever on my way to work at Publix. I used to work stupid hours. I always looked forward to those things, as strange as they were.

Even though I was raised a Georgia Tech fan, I don't think it's possible to grow up here and think of Munson's voice as being anything less than what the state of Georgia sounds like.
