Larry Munson's memorial services won't be conducted until after the Georgia Bulldogs play in the Dec. 3 SEC Championship Game, the University of Georgia announced Monday. There's no word yet on official time or date.
The longtime UGA football play-by-play man passed away Sunday night due to complications from pneumonia, his son told the school. At 89 years old, he'd made his legacy as the man whose voice and passion combined to turn Southern football into a weekly horrifying, but wonderful, revival.
Homages poured out from around Dawg Nation and the rest of the college football world Sunday and have continued on through Monday. Munson will be remembered for the long line of noteworthy game calls he delivered during his 42-year career in Athens.
